About Us

We're a young guy and an old guy.

I'm Harry- The young guy. I'm the one who seems to find the fish when the old man can't. I love practically any type of fishing, but my true passion is in saltwater kayak fishing. I am very fortunate to be able to kayak fish the upper coast of Texas and I love every second spent on the water whether we're just paddling in search of the elusive reds, or pulling in fish nearly every cast. I have also always had a thing for photography and videography, and I look forward to sharing my photos and videos with anyone who may happen to stumble upon this blog. I enjoy catching both flounder and specks, but I would rather be in the super shallow water paddling down grass lines in search of that small wake or jumping shrimp. Nothing gets my heart pumping like hunting for reds in super skinny water. Unfortunately with school, sports, friends, family, and other activities time for fishing is very limited for us but we take advantage of every opportunity we have to hit the water.

And I'm Dave - the old guy, or I am compared to my middle, forgotten child and co-blogger, Harry. I've developed a passion for kayak fishing over the last year. After years of focus on my career and doing my best at being a husband and father of three kids, we've reached the point where I can sometimes get out for half a day and enjoy the salt water with one or two of the kids. I'm a big advocate of time on the water for relaxation, exercise, time with a kid, and of course fishing. As a geologist I can't help but look at the coastal environment with an oceanographic and geomorphologic perspective that might be a little different than most kayak anglers. I don't know that that's a good thing.  And finally, I try to share the fun and peace of kayak fishing with anyone who will listen, even my lovely wife.

Harry and I will both make posts to this blog. Whether it turns out to be a simple record of our thoughts and activities or develops into something a few people want to actually read - only time will tell. With a little luck we will share experiences from two perspectives - that of a developing and excitable young teen kayak angler and that of a parent both learning and trying to share lessons along the way.
